Beth McDonald
A second year National Diploma in Tourism Management student at the University of Johannesburg, Beth McDonald was inspired by her previous working experience in the industry.
"I am a social person and love to interact with different people," she says, "I feel that it is important to have experience in the tourism industry as each lesson is valuable and will help immensley with my future"
McDonald aspires to be a tourism journalist to familiarise herself with tourist destinations and the various forms of accommodation. "My long term goal within this industry is be associated with lodge management and ownership," she adds, "The pathway to reach this goal will require me to work from the bottom-up within the industry".
A confident and polite young lady filled with passion and determination to reach her goals, McDonalds would love any opportunity in the industry to gain work experience. "This will build on my character and knowlegde and assist me in my pathway to success."
A career in tourism is her best choice as it is a very diverse industry with many different and exciting opportunities to choose from. "Travel has always been a large part of my life as I have experienced the thrill of exploring new and exciting destinations," she says, "I wish to help people to enjoy their holiday adventures and there is no better way to do this than to be directly involved in the tourism industry," she concludes.
